12月下旬特朗普政府出其不意地暂停对我国进口注塑模具征收25%的关税，分析师称这个决议或许会损伤美国模具制造商，但会协助供给轿车制造商的美国塑料公司。

  美国交易代表办公室的公告意味着，作为美国对我国进口商品征收的*轮340亿美元关税的一部分，7月份特朗普政府宣告的对我国造注塑模具征收25%的关税将被暂停至少一年。

  美国交易代表办公室没有解说为何做出这个决议，但一位模具制造业的律师表明，这或许是对200多条来自注塑模具公司(许多公司是轿车供给链的一部分)对特定模具进口豁免关税要求的回应。

  美国交易代表办公室的声明包括的产品比模具更广泛。依据这个声明，约30种不同类别的进口商品将取得关税豁免，而模具是塑料项下*的类别。

  “我信任他们已收到了许多寻求豁免模具关税的公司的要求，政府决议对模具予以全面的豁免，而不费时吃力地去处理每个公司的豁免恳求，”总部在印第安纳波利斯的美国模具制造商协会律师H.AlanRothenbuecher说。“没有人切当知道为啥，但这是我的观点。”
